The station clock

The punctuality of the Swiss railway system is world-renowned. This is due to well-trained and reliable railroad employees and, of course, the legendary Swiss station clock.
Created by engineer and designer Hans Hilfiker in the 1940s, it is still the epitome of Swiss quality and reliability.
For a long time, master clocks ensured that railway time was accurate to the second throughout the country. They passed on their time impulses synchronously to their respectively connected subsidiary clocks.
